Privacy PolicyIOS App - November 2020
When you use Flashzone we receive some personal information from you like the type of device you’re using and your IP address.
Posts on Flashzone are immediately viewable and searchable. You can communicate in non-public ways on Flashzone via direct messaging. Flashzone will make your message available to the person to whom you have directed the message. We will store and process your communications and information related to them. This may include link scanning for malicious content, link shortening, spam detection, and reviewing issues that have been reported to us. We also use information about direct messaging to improve services to you and to prevent spam, abusive messaging and criminal activity. Even if you delete your message the person you messaged has the ability to copy your message and share it with others.
By choosing interests in Flashzone, called flashtags, relevant information, which might include related advertising, may be presented to you.
In order for us to provide services to you there is certain information we need. For example, you must have an account to share content on Flashzone. We also need you to either enter a ZIP code or give permission to know your non-precise location or your precise location; We do not share your exact location. Posts/flashes contain the neighborhood from which a post originated (or in the case of users entering a ZIP code, a neighborhood associated with that ZIP code) and general neighborhood location may be inferred at other times. For the InterestBuddy™ meeting-mode feature you may be invited to give your permission to show your exact location. You choose whether or not to do this and the limited duration of time you permit it, should you choose to do so.
The display name and username you select are always publicly available. Your display name need not be your actual name.
Public Information
Except for direct messaging most activity on Flashzone is public, your posts (called flashes), your re-posts (called reflashes), and the date, time, and general location (neighborhood) of where they were posted, except for users entering a ZIP code at registration; these users’ posts/flashes will reflect that ZIP code irrespective of their actual neighborhood location. Your profile, created by you, is also public. You decide what personal data you wish to share with us on your profile or your registration form. Your profile does not show your location at all unless you enter it. We do not recommend entering your exact location into your profile unless you have a non-personal account. For information on opening a business account you may contact us at business@flashzone.com.
You are responsible for your posts/flashes and other information you provide through our services, and you should be judicious in posting content, especially if it is sensitive information. More information on this is available in our Terms of Service. You may delete your posts/flashes and they will be deleted from each flashtag interest where you delete them and from each profile where you delete them. User information provided during account registration can be edited by the user on the “edit profile” page. User name cannot be changed. User may delete their account on the main menu.
We may send you push notifications and emails, and you can control receipt of these in Settings. We reserve the right to send you occasional updates from the Flashzone team.
Enhancing the User Experience
We use Third Party social media to help us find areas of interest to recommend to you on Flashzone. Specifically, signing up for Flashzone through social media you understand your social media interests will be used to suggest areas of interest for you on Flashzone to give you a better, more personalized experience.
You can choose to upload your address book to Flashzone so that we can help you find and connect with people you know and help others find and connect with you.
If you email us, we will keep the content of your message, your email address, and your contact information to respond to your request.
